Michelle Eguia is a native Chicagoan turned New Yorker. She recently graduated with honors from Parsons School of Design with a BFA in Communication Design. Having interned at NBC Universal, DKNY, and Crystal CG in Shanghai, she is a creative in graphic and product design and is pursuing a career in packaging design. In her spare time, she enjoys creating the miscellaneous – darts, bowls, and jewelry – and she hopes to explore gold smithing and glass blowing next.
She was recently chosen out of 90 students to participate in a four day Ikea workshop where participants were asked to "hack" the Delaktig sofa designed by industrial designer, Tom Dixon. Following presenting their idea Apokalyps, Michelle and her design partner, Valerie Trisnadi, were interviewed by the New York Times and were featured at the 2017 Milan Furniture Fair in April.
