Last name pronounced "ee-ge-uh"
Michelle Eguia is a native Chicagoan turned New Yorker and an adventure fanatic beyond just design. A creative at heart, she graduated with honors from Parsons School of Design with a BFA in Communication Design. Recently diving into the jewelry/metal making world, she creates miscellaneous things – darts, bowls, and wearables – and loves the sculptural aspect of designing.
She was recently chosen out of 90 students to participate in a four day Ikea workshop where participants were asked to "hack" the Delaktig sofa designed by industrial designer, Tom Dixon. Following presenting their idea Apokalyps, Michelle and her design partner, Valerie Trisnadi, were interviewed by the New York Times and are going to be featured at the 2017 Milan Furniture Fair.
Available for freelance work in graphic design and custom jewelry fabrication.
